15 YEARS OF MACN
15 years ago, a small group of companies came together around a shared challenge: corruption in maritime trade.
The idea was simple, but ambitious: by working together, companies could do more than address corruption risks individually. They could share experiences, build evidence, engage with stakeholders and work collectively towards practical solutions.
Fifteen years later, that idea has grown into a global network of 230+ members across the maritime value chain.
Together, the network has built a collective evidence base of 72,000+ reported incidents across 1,350+ ports, launched 11 collective action initiatives, trained 25,000+ seafarers in building integrity at sea, and supported 7,000+ vessels through the MACN HelpDesk.
But the numbers are only part of the story.
What matters is what they represent: people and organizations coming together around a shared mission, turning experience into evidence, and evidence into collective action and impact.
And the work is far from finished.
As the maritime industry continues to evolve, so do the challenges, and the need for collaboration, integrity and practical solutions.
15 years on, the mission remains the same: to work together to make maritime trade more resilient to corruption.
Thank you to our members, local partners, Secretariat, and collaborating institutions across the public and private sectors for being part of this journey and for continuing to turn a shared mission into collective action and impact.
And the work continues.
