Advancing Integrity in Egypt’s Maritime Sector
Last week, MACN met with 14 local offices of our member organizations, each demonstrating a strong commitment to tackling corruption and enhancing operational efficiency in Egyptian ports, terminals, and the Suez Canal. These meetings were part of our work under the USAID Countering Transnational Corruption Grand Challenge.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to continue driving integrity and efficiency through key initiatives:
- Industry Integrity Forums: Partnering with Eldib Pandi, MACN will host annual forums inviting private-sector maritime stakeholders to explore collective action approaches.
- Public-Private Policy Dialogue: Facilitating discussions to identify procedural gaps and co-create actionable solutions.
- Peer Learning Sessions: Interactive workshops for private sector partners to share compliance best practices and operational insights.
This work underscores the value of private-sector innovation and leadership in countering corruption – a cornerstone of USAID’s #DoingBizWithIntegrity initiative. We encourage the private sector in Egypt, members, and non-members, to contact us if you would like to learn more about the initiative. Thank you to all participants for their invaluable contributions to these important efforts.
