Compliance Roundtable: “A Maritime Sector Fit For Purpose: Evidence of Data Driven Compliance”
The fourth Compliance Roundtable was held in Lagos, Nigeria on the theme of data-driven compliance within government agencies. The event was attended by the newly formed Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and other key government agencies. Through the Nigerian Shippers Council and other government agencies, the Federal Ministry of Transportation has consistently supported reform policies that improve compliance in the Nigerian seaports.
Discussions revolved around how data-driven compliance will help identify the impact, gaps, and opportunities, contributing to the harmonization of processes in Nigerian seaports. It also enhances transparency, accountability, and traceability which are essential for improving efficiency, which is key to sustaining the progress made so far.
