Highlights from Maritime Week Africa 2026
We were proud to participate in Maritime Week Africa 2026 in Cape Town, a two-day event hosted by ship.energy that brought together international stakeholders to discuss critical developments in fuel and bunker operations.
Captain Brendon Hawley, a former MACN board member, presented our mission to combat corrupt demands in port operations through collective action and practical tools that support the industry.

Across Africa, MACN collaborates with industry and local partners, including the Convention on Business Integrity (CBi), to strengthen transparency in the maritime sector.
Our work includes:
– Supporting countries in developing and harmonizing Standard Operating Procedures
– Enhancing cooperation with authorities and civil society
– Contributing to regional dialogue aimed at improving the operating environment
Thank you to everyone who attended and engaged during the event, and to our colleagues and partners across Africa who advance this mission every day.
