MACN and GNCP Works to Foster Private Sector Alliance for Integrity
MACN and Global Compact Network Pakistan (GCNP) have finished a series of three roundtable events, focused on building a private sector alliance for integrity, good governance, and transparency in the maritime industry. The roundtables have been attended by all of Pakistan’s major maritime industry associations and have focused on the need for transparent standard operating procedures (SOPs) in processes at risk. This endeavor represents a collaborative effort between private sector stakeholders such as the Pakistan Shipping Agents Association and public entities, aimed at streamlining the processes and creating more transparency. By crafting these SOPs, the industry can establish a clear set of guidelines and expectations that all participants can abide by, thus reducing opportunities for corrupt practices to take root.
