MACN Kicks Off Private Sector Integrity Initiative in Egypt

Last week, MACN hosted its first Private Sector Business Integrity Event in Cairo, with support from our local partner, Eldib Pandi. Special thanks to our panelists – Khaled Bayoumi (Albaharia Shipping Co.), Khalil Al Hooti (Asyad Shipping), and Aziz Nabil (ISS Shipping) – for sharing their expertise and commitment to advancing integrity in Egypt’s maritime sector.

It was clear that leadership’s commitment is key to empowering teams to reject unethical demands and to fostering a culture where open dialogue about integrity is the norm. Discussions emphasized the importance of equipping frontline staff with practical tools and encouraging ethical behavior through recognition and accountability – both internally and across our supply chains.

As we continue our collaboration with the Egyptian maritime authorities, an important step for the private sector is to contact MACN and report any unethical port barriers they encounter.
