What Does Integrity Look Like in Port State Control?
Strengthening integrity in maritime governance requires continuous collaboration at all levels.
MACN took part in the Viña del Mar Agreement Secretariat’s Integrity Workshop, held virtually earlier this month on Integrity and Good Practices, bringing together Port State Control Officers (PSCOs) from the Maritime Authorities of Member States to exchange good practices and advance collective action against unethical practices in the industry.
The discussions highlighted the importance of transparency, accountability, and professionalism in building a safer, fairer, and more efficient maritime sector. At the heart of this work is the value of learning from different perspectives and experiences across the industry.
We would like to thank the Viña del Mar Agreement Secretariat and all participants for their commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue and strengthening a culture of integrity across the region.
Together, we continue driving positive change in maritime trade.
