Building Integrity from the Classroom Up: MACN Meets Indian Maritime University Chennai
Building more transparent and accountable maritime trade depends on strong partnerships and shared commitment.
We had the pleasure of meeting with the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Indian Maritime University, Chennai, and his team for an exchange on strengthening ethics, integrity, and anti-corruption practices across the maritime value chain.
We had an engaging discussion on MACN’s initiatives and global experience, including the joint awareness and training program conducted with ISWAN – SOUTH ASIA at T.S. Chanakya. The positive response to this initiative opened an encouraging conversation around the possibility of bringing a similar programme to IMU Chennai.
We also explored opportunities to share global maritime insights and emerging trends with the University, supporting research and potentially translating these into meaningful academic projects.
A key takeaway from the discussion was a shared recognition that building an ethical and integrity-driven maritime sector begins with equipping the next generation of maritime professionals with the right knowledge, values, and practical understanding.
A very positive conversation, with promising opportunities for collaboration, capacity building, research, and long-term impact. We look forward to continuing the dialogue and exploring these opportunities further.
